§ Mr. MacleanLocal authorities, in partnership with the private sector where appropriate, are able to apply for supplementary credit approvals for recycling projects. Private companies which are developing new recycling technologies or processes may seek grants under the ETIS and DEMOS schemes. While my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has the responsibility for providing grants to farmers for works to prevent pollution from agricultural waste, he has no plans to extend these grants to businesses of this type.
