HC Deb 21 January 1993 vol 217 c366W
Mr. Allen

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many Bosnian refugees have been housed in local authority accommodation; and how much money has been allocated to replacing that accommodation(a) nationally and (b) in the city of Nottingham.

Mr. Baldry

The Department does not hold details of the national origins of people allocated accommodation under the homelessness legislation. As the Minister for Housing and Planning, my hon. Friend the Member for Ealing, Acton (Sir G. Young), announced on 16 November 1992, at column54, the Government are making available a special grant for local authorities faced with exceptional costs arising from the influx of refugees from the former Yugoslav republic; the distribution of that grant has not yet been decided.
