§ Mr. Baldry[holding answer 15 January 1993]: The Building Research Establishment has provided my Department with technical advice on a number of the recommendations of the noise review working party, including the current draft of the Planning Policy Guidance note on planning and noise which will replace circular 10/73 and proposals to increase controls on noise from audible intruder alarms. They have represented my Department on BSI committees responsible for the revision of BS4142 (industrial noise) and the replacement of BS4737 (alarms) by a European standard.
