§ Mr. AtkinsA consultation paper setting out proposals for amendments to parts E and EE of the Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1990 was issued for consideration, on 31 December 1991, to a total of 115 public and private sector bodies. These proposals are based on similar requirements which have since been incorporated in the Building Regulations 1991 which apply in England and Wales.
Twenty-three responses to the consultation paper were received.
It is likely that the statutory rule amending the regulations will be made in late 1993, following consideration by the European Commission, and will come into operation in 1994.
