§ Mr. McMasterTo ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list the awards given to voluntary organisations under the section 64 procedure for the financial year 1991–92; what awards he plans to make in the financial year 1992–93; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Sackville[holding answer 14 January 1993]: Grants totalling over £15–8 million were awarded to voluntary organisations in England during 1991–92 under the section 64 general scheme. Details have been placed in the Library.
For 1992–93 grant approval letters had been issued by 13 January 1993 to various organisations. A list of them has also been placed in the Library. In addition further approval letters up to the total provision of £17.8 million will be issued during the remainder of the year where payment is dependent for example on work starting on a project in the near future. The organisations in question are aware of the position.
