To ask the Secretary of State for Employment, pursuant to her answer of 16 December,Official Report, columns 250–51, if she will list the numbers of people represented by the unemployment rates given.

[holding answer 12 January 1993]: Only unemployment rates are published on a monthly basis and these were given in my answer to the hon. Member of 16 December, Official Report, columns 250–51. The corresponding numbers of unemployed represented by the rates given in my earlier answere are not available as such figures are only produced on the basis of annual averages. The latest annual data relates to 1991 and is as follows:
