To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what aid is being given to South Africa in the current year.

Mr. Hurd

We expect our bilateral aid to black South Africans to rise to over £11 million this financial year. Our share of EC aid will add a further £11 million. This is money well spent.
