HC Deb 18 January 1993 vol 217 c71W
Mr. Waterson

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what assessment he has made of the adequacy of the numbers of fully trained and experienced salvage personnel in the United Kingdom to deal with future pollution incidents caused by maritime casualties.

Mr. Norris

[holding answer 14 January 1993]: The Department of Transport maintains, under contract, response teams with specific responsibility for deploying equipment for dealing with chemical and oil tanker incidents. In addition, liaison is maintained with leading salvors and their capability. I am satisfied with these arrangements.
