Whether they will invite or direct the Medical Research Council to follow the lead of publicly funded researchers in other countries and formally communicate the human gene sequences which they have derived from their research to UNESCO.
§ The Minister of State, Department of Education (Baroness Blatch)We have no plans to do so. The MRC's sequences are already freely available to the scientific community through the database maintained at the Human Genome Resource Centre.
