To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans she has for reorganising the family health service authorities; and if she will make a statement.

Circular EL(92)47, priorities and planning guidance 1993/94, copies of which are available in the Library, sets out the Government's position on the organisation of family health service authorities. It stales thatthe full benefits of current arrangements have yet to be realised". We believe that FHSAs have a major role to play in the further development of primary care.
