HC Deb 18 January 1993 vol 217 c97W
16. Mr. Clappison

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will make a statement on the range of net income over which families are eligible for family credit.

Mr. Burt

There is no minimum qualifying level of income for family credit. The upper limit will vary with the number and age of the children. A family with one child under 11 can get family credit if their net weekly income is less than £139 a week. A family with four children aged three, eight 11 and 16 could be eligible with a net income of £209 a week.
