To ask the President of the Board of Trade what plans he has for extending the non-fossil fuel obligation to Scotland and Ireland; when it will happen; and if it will be on a rolling programme basis.

Policy in relation to the making of non-fossil fuel obligation orders in Scotland and Northern Ireland is a matter for the Secretaries of State for Scotland and Northern Ireland respectively. Meanwhile, the coal review is considering the implications of the obligation on electricity suppliers to purchase non-fossil power.
