Mr. Straw

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list(a) the total number of residential properties owned by his Department, (b) the number of such properties which are empty, and (c), (b) as a percentage of (a).

[holding answer 11 January 1993]: The total numbers of residential properties owned by the Scottish Office, including the health service, as at 31 March 1992 was 1,666, of which 245 were vacant. The number of vacant properties expressed as a percentage of the total owned is 14.7 per cent.
