§ Mr. YeoIndicative special transitional grant allocations for all authorities were given in the Department's circular LASSL(92)12 (amended) issued to local authorities on 14 December 1992. The circular sets out the basis of the calculation, and a copy is in the Library. The figures were revised because of a technical error in the original formula used to calculate the figures. The extra £565 million which has been made available to local authorities for community care has been ring fenced to enable all authorities to arrange and purchase appropriate care under their new responsibilities.
