§ Mr. Waterson
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what plans Her Majesty's Government have to ratify the 1989 salvage convention.

§ Mr. Norris
It is the Government's intention to ratify this convention as soon as parliamentary time can be 819W found for the necessary primary legislation. The main provisions of the convention are applied commercially when there is a Lloyd's open form 1990 contract between a shipowner and a salvor, as in the case of the Braer.
