§ Mr. Peter LloydCircular instructions 9/1992 replaces, so far as practice in the prison service is concerned, DHSS circular HC (87) on the washing of foul and infected linen. Annex 3 of the circular instruction includes detailed guidance on the treatment of foul and infected linen and the wearing of protective clothing, which all prisons are expected to follow so as to ensure that such items are hygienically washed to the standards recommended in the DHSS circular.
