Mr. Simon Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for Education if he will publish figures showing expenditure by each local education authority on the youth service for each year from 1988.

Mr. Boswell

The latest year for which information on actual expenditure is available is 1990–91. The table shows expenditure on the youth service by each local authority in each of the three years from 1988–89 to 1990–91.
