§ Mr. MorganTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what consultations she has had with the chairmen and women of the training and enterprise councils concerning the 16 and 17-year-olds not on training schemes, or in full-time education; what statistics she has in relation to the numbers of such young people; how many were(a) on a waiting list for youth training places, (b) have already started and left a youth training place and (c) other; and what proposals she has to widen the coverage of youth training placement.
§ Mr. McLoughlinDepartmental officials are carrying out reviews on a weekly basis with TECs which are responsible for the delivery of YT. We receive regular reports on TEC performance in the delivery of the YT guarantee. My right hon. Friend announced the estimated numbers of young people seeking training at national level in a reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Gedling (Mr. Mitchell) on 1 December 1992,Official Report, columns 127–28. More recent figures will be published when they are available.
