Mr. Blunkett

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what budgetary provision has been made for 1992–93 and 1993–94 for the publication of the "Health of the Nation" targets.

Dr. Mawhinney

The cost of producing "The Health of the Nation" White Paper, together with nine other supporting and subsequent publications, and making these widely available will be around £2.4 million in 1992–93. This includes the cost of implementation activity such as the forthcoming publication of guidance on each of the key areas and 14 regional conferences taking place from January to March this year.

Allocations for publications, communications and publicity in 1993–94 have yet to be decided.
