HC Deb 11 January 1993 vol 216 c563W
Mr. Corbyn

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions have been held with the current and incoming United States Administration on the role and objectives of the United States and other troops in Somalia, their command structure, and their date of evacuation; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

We maintain close contact with United States authorities and the coalition forces on all aspects of the Somali crisis. The United States authorities have made clear that United States troops will not be withdrawn until the objectives of Security Council resolution 794 have been achieved.
