§ Mr. NeedhamSuch estimates are not made by the Department. Exports of the finished product reported by Customs and Excise and published by the British Phonographic Industry Ltd. (BPI) were £196.3 million in 1991. Invisible earnings in the form of royalties returning from overseas were assessed in a report published by British Invisibles to be £486 million in 1988–89. Figures for all exports are shown in the Monthly Review of External Trade Statistics published by the Central Statistical Office.
