§ 35. Mr. SteenTo ask the right hon. Member for Berwick-upon-Tweed, representing the House of Commons Commission, what developments have taken place in financial management and scrutiny of House expenditure in the current financial year.
§ Mr. BeithAs well as the establishment of the domestic committees and the Finance and Services Committee, good progress has been made in improving financial management systems in House Departments. These include the allocation of departmental budgets and delegation of authority to incur expenditure and approve payments. Further improvements are planned by the Director of Finance and Administration.
