HC Deb 11 January 1993 vol 216 c647W
Mrs. Ewing

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when he will announce the route and commencement date for the Fochabers bypass on the A96.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

[holding answer 16 December 1992]: The Government have a very large rolling programme of improvements on the A96. An important element within this is the construction of major bypasses. Bucksburn is currently under construction and Kintore and Keith have also been announced as planned starts. The Government wish to target the maximum resources possible at construction, so preparation for further bypasses is, and will be, pursued in line with expectations for construction funding. The entry of Fochabers to the trunk road preparation programme will continue to be kept under review.
