HC Deb 26 February 1993 vol 219 c758W
Mr. Tony Banks

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much was spent on official entertainment in his Department during 1991–92 and 1992–93 to date.

Mr. Nelson

[holding answer 24 February 1993]: Expenditure on official entertainment for 1991–92 was £86,162. For 1992–93 expenditure to date is £253,609. The large increase in 1992–93 results from a number of one-off events, including ECOFIN meetings during the United Kingdom presidency.
