HL Deb 25 February 1993 vol 543 c21WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will outline the cost benefit analysis that has prompted the Treasury to propose selling the Government Art Collection; and to list the experts from whom they have solicited advice.

The Earl of Caithness

It is the Government's policy regularly to review the activities of government to decide whether they should continue to be provided by the state. Clearly, Ministers will want to consider how the Government Art Collection fits with the core activities of government, and will seek expert advice as necessary.
