HC Deb 25 February 1993 vol 219 cc672-3W
Mr. Llwyd

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department if he will make it his policy for family courts to provide creche facilities.

Mr. John M. Taylor

All family court care centres have a separate child witness waiting room and, in addition, as a result of local initiatives, family rooms where children can wait have been created at a number of other courts. At the magistrates courts, creche facilities may be provided on a local basis if it is considered desirable by the relevant magistrates courts committee. This is the most practical policy in the circumstances.
