HC Deb 25 February 1993 vol 219 cc701-2W
Mr. Llew Smith

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many copies of his departmental annual report 1993 and expenditure plans for 1993 to 1996 Cm 2215, have been printed; at what cost; and to whom it has been distributed.

Mr. David Hunt

Some 2,500 copies of the Welsh Office departmental report, Cm 2215, were printed. The costs of printing and publication were borne by HMSO which aims to recover costs from sales revenue. As in previous years, the Department purchased copies for its own use; 425 copies were purchased at a cost of £4,154.

Copies are sent to the chief executives of the non-departmental public bodies and agencies for which the Department has some responsibility; to the chief executives of local authorities in Wales and the secretaries of the Council of Welsh Districts and Assembly of Welsh Counties; to health authorities in Wales; and to training and enterprise councils. Copies are also sent to all MPs with Welsh constituencies, and to the Welsh Affairs and the Treasury and Civil Service Select Committees. The Department also retains copies for internal distribution.

The Department also reimburses HMSO for the lost revenue in pricing the bilingual report as a single-language document. This cost for the 1993 report was £4,966.
