Mr. Freeman

The Department of Transport's internal BR privatisation costs cannot be separately identified before September 1991. The following costs include those of special advisers where appropriate:

£ million
1991–92 0.5
1992–93 estimated outturn 1.5
1993–94 expected expenditure 9.5
Consultants' costs:
1991–92 0.5
1992–93 estimated outturn 5.2
1993–94 expected expenditure 12.0

British Rail's costs and estimates are a matter for British Rail.
