With reference to the 1993 Highway Code, whether it is now unlawful to halt a vehicle on the zig-zag lines on the left-hand carriageway beyond a pedestrian crossing in order to allow a passenger to descend onto the pavement.
The Minister of State, Department of Transport (The Earl of Caithness)All vehicles (except for certain public service vehicles) are prohibited from stopping on the zig-zag lines at a pedestrian crossing to let passengers board or alight.
