§ Mr. Robin SquireA wide range of local authority services are subject to CCT, including highway and building construction and maintenance, refuse collection, street sweeping, grounds maintenance, and catering. Last November my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State announced the extension of CCT to a further range of local authority professional and corporate services.

§ Sir George YoungThe Housing and Urban Development Bill contains provisions which pave the way for the introduction of compulsory competitive tendering to local authority housing management. It is anticipated that regulations governing the detailed operation and implementation of local authority housing management CCT will be introduced later this year.
