HL Deb 24 February 1993 vol 543 c15WA
Lord Clinton-Davis

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have yet received the inspectors' report relating to the investigation carried out under Section 431 of the Companies Act 1985 in to Astra Holdings PLC and, if not, when they expect to receive it. What is the probable date for its publication; and, what is their explanation for the delay, bearing in mind the fact that the inspectors were appointed in August 1990 and that the Government had stated that they had expected to receive the report by the end of 1991.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Trade and Industry (Baroness Denton of Wakefield)

The inspectors have not yet completed their report, although they are now well advanced in its preparation, having considered submissions made in the course of fairness procedures. A decision on publication will be taken when the report has been received and its contents considered.
