Mr. Gerrard

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many assaults, major and minor, on prison staff have taken place at each prison establishment in England and Wales between April 1992 and February 1993.

The available information relates to offences of assault on prison officers, or other members of staff, which were punished under the prison discipline system and is given in the table. Data for offences punished in January and February are not yet available.
