To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what Government funding is made available annually towards the cost of the training course for veterinary science.

Funding for veterinary schools is the responsibility of the Universities Funding Council. The UFC's teaching

Notes.

1. Class A drugs include heroin, opium, morphine, cocaine, pethidine, other narcotic drugs, LSD and certain other injectable amphetamines and hallucinogens.

Class B drugs include other narcotics, cannabis, cannabis resin and amphetamines.

Class C drugs include a number of amphetamine-like drugs.

Toxic material includes glue, lighter fuel and other inhaled hallucinogenic substances.

Information in respect of the types of drugs involved in cases of administrative discharge is not held centrally and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.

In my answer of 5 February, columns 373–74, the figures shown for dismissal related solely to those instances where an offender's most serious offence was either importing, possessing, or supplying drugs. The figures provided in today's answer also include those convicted of

unit of resource for veterinary science for the academic year 1992–93 is £9,589. The UFC is funding some 1,800 undergraduate places.
