To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on the latest quarterly figures for manufacturing output.

§ Mr. Nelson
[holding answer 17 February 1993]: The index of manufacturing output at 1985 prices, seasonally adjusted, for the fourth quarter of 1992 was 111.2. It was 0.2 per cent. lower than in the previous quarter, but 0.2 per cent. higher than in the fourth quarter of 1991.
