HC Deb 18 February 1993 vol 219 c299W
Mr. John Evans

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the initial three-year budget of his Department's environmental technology innovation scheme launched in October 1990; and how much has been spent to date.

Mr. Maclean

The initial budget for the environmental technology innovation scheme—ETIS—was £12 million divided equally between my Department and the Department of Trade and Industry. Of the £4.6 million so far committed by the DOE on approved projects, £1.25 million has been spent to date. These two figures include grants to projects initially submitted under DOE's predecessor scheme which was subsumed into ETIS in October 1990.

Mr. John Evans

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to finalise the environmental technology innovation scheme budget for the next financial year.

Mr. Maclean

Provision for my Department's expenditure on grants under the scheme will be included in the main supply estimates which will be published next month.
