HC Deb 18 February 1993 vol 219 c333W
Miss Lestor

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what percentage of employees in his Department are registered disabled.

Mr. Mates

There are no registered disabled staff in the small cadre of home civil servants employed in the Northern Ireland Office.

On 13 January 1993, 1.6 per cent. of the Northern Ireland civil service (NICS) were registered disabled. In addition, 60 registered disabled people were working in the NICS under the sheltered placement scheme.
