asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will allow unmarried mothers in the Armed Services the same rights that other Service personnel with children enjoy in respect of allowances, including those for medical care and education, and the right to occupy married quarters.

The Ministry of Defence is reviewing the Services' policy on the provision of public married accommodation and associated benefits for single parents serving in the Armed Forces. An announcement will be made about the outcome of this review in due course.
