To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans there are to provide day care centres for the mentally ill in Lambeth.

Mr. Yeo

It is the responsibility of district health authorities and local authority social services departments to contract for or provide a comprehensive range of mental health services to meet the level of psychiatric need in their areas.
