§ Mr. JackFollowing representations made to my right hon. and learned Friend on 16 June 1992 about Mr. 137W Silcott's conviction for the murder of Mr. Smith, the Metropolitan police were asked to make inquiries. These have since been extended to take account of further representations received on 27 October 1992 and 25 January 1993. My right hon. and learned Friend will give further consideration to the case once the police inquiries have been completed.
