To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will set out the main types of consumer goods which contribute to the United Kingdom trade deficit.

Overseas trade statistics suggest that "apparel and clothing accessories", "passenger motor cars" and "household fixtures and fittings" contributed significantly to the deficit in our trade in consumer goods in 1992.
