§ Mr. Charles WardleThe co-ordinators' group is a group of senior officials set up by the European Council in 1988 to co-ordinate member states' action relating to the free movement of persons. It also has direct oversight of the work of the horizontal group on data processing, which is looking at the creation of a European information system for the exchange of information of inadmissible aliens, missing persons, stolen vehicles and other goods. The group also has a remit from the Maastricht European Council to plan for the implementation of title VI of the treaty on European union. It reports direct to the European Council.
