HC Deb 15 February 1993 vol 219 c11W
Mr. Battle

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what are the financial implications of the agreement made at the world summit for children, for all donor countries to re-examine their development assistance budgets, to ensure that programmes aimed at the achievement of the goals for the survival, protection and development of children will have a priority when resources are allocated.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The world summit for children was not planned as a pledging conference and no new programme was launched. The summit's goals are fully consistent with the priority areas for the British aid programme, which are explained in the departmental report published on 10 February (Cm 2202).
