To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what consultations he has had with the incoming administration in the United States of America regarding membership of UNESCO; and if he will make a statement.

We have frequent contacts with the United States authorities on many aspects of UNESCO. My information is that, like us, they have reached no decision on membership of the organisation.
