To ask the President of the Board of Trade, pursuant to his answer of 9 February,Official Report, column 568, what arrangements, other than the state aid inherent in the fossil fuel levy, were notified to the European Commission in the course of the electricity privatisation exercise.

The other arrangements notified to the European Commission in the course of the eleclricity privatisation exercise in England and Wales werethe Regional Electricity Companies' agreement with Nuclear Electric forming part of the qualifying arrangements to meet the Nuclear Non-Fossil Fuel Obligation; the coal purchase contracts between the British Coal Corporation and National Power and PowerGen; the qualifying arrangements to meet the renewables Non-Fossil Fuel Obligation, and the arrangements relating to the Non-Fossil Purchasing Agency Lid.; the Grid and Distribution Codes; the arrangements involving Electricité de France; the British Grid Systems Agreement; the Pooling and Settlement Agreement; the Master Connection and Use of System Agreement and the connection and use of system agreements; the initial contracts for differences.
