HC Deb 12 February 1993 vol 218 c814W
Mr. Peter Bottomley

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment which elements of the Trade Union Reform and Employment Rights Bill were not discussed in advance with the Equal Opportunities Commission.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

The Equal Opportunities Commission was consulted about the most significant provisions in the Trade Union Reform and Employment Rights Bill which concern equality of opportunity and in which it has a legitimate interest. The commission was not consulted about the provisions affecting trade unions or other broader industrial relations issues.
