To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has to introduce legal protection for long-standing tenants of tied houses on estates; and if he will make a statement.

These tenancies are private arrangements between the tenants and their employers, and the conditions of tenure are known to the tenants when they enter into their contract of employment. However, tied tenants cannot be removed from their homes without a court order.
