HC Deb 12 February 1993 vol 218 cc801-2W
Mr. McAllion

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many staff in his Department are assigned to the market testing programme; how much the programme has cost his Department since November 1991; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Nelson

Work on market testing is combined with other duties and it is not possible to give a figure for the number of people assigned to the market testing programme. We broadly estimate that the cost of the programme to date is £155,000. This includes the cost of support for the in-house teams and other consultancy work. It does not include the cost of the in-house teams themselves.
