HC Deb 10 February 1993 vol 218 cc687-8W
Mr. Rowlands

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many people in receipt of war disablement pensions have made a claim for loss of hearing below the 20 per cent. level in 1990, 1991 and 1992; and how many are currently outstanding.

Miss Widdecombe

The information is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. However, claims for war disablement pension have increased significantly during the period as follows.

Claims
1990 27,004
1991 42,881
1992 133,972

Note: Records do not show how many of these claims were for noise induced hearing loss.
