§ Mr. StreeterTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what progress has been made on the implementation of the Sea Fish (Conservation) Act 1992.
§ Mr. CurryI shall shortly be laying before Parliament an order setting out the principles on which days-at-sea allocations will be worked out. On the basis of this order, Fisheries Departments will issue provisional days-at-sea figures to fishermen, who will have an opportunity to comment on them before days-at-sea restrictions start to operate. All fishermen will have a further opportunity to make a formal appeal to the Sea Fish Licence Tribunal which is now being set up.
I am placing in the Library of the House today an information note giving further details.
