To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many applications have been received from units or hospitals seeking trust status in Northumberland; and if she will make a statement.

We have received three expressions of interest from units in Northumberland seeking trust status in the fourth wave. If all are successful it will bring the total number of national health service trusts in Northumberland to five.
